Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour
Built mostly on reclaimed land, Abu Dhabi is an engineering and cultural marvel that is quickly rising to become one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world. One of the most prominent tourist attractions is Yas Island, a piece of land reclaimed and developed exclusively for tourists. The ticket gives you an opportunity to hop on a tour bus and disembark at any or all of the 18 stops along the way. As for the tour, it begins at the Marina Mall, one of the city’s biggest attractions and also the largest mall in the Middle East. The mall is located in one of Abu Dhabi’s prime tourist spots that overlooks the Corniche. The bus then makes its way to the Emirates Palace Hotel, one of the premier seven-star hotels in the United Arab Emirates. Enjoy the opulence of the place and feast on some of the rarest delicacies. The next stops are the Sheikh Zayed Centre and the Etihad Museum, both of which are located on the same road. Filled with artifacts, sculptures and information about the history of the country and the city, these centres serve as a testament to the rich political, cultural, and scientific history of the city and pay homage to its founder, Sheikh Zayed.
The bus then heads to the popular Sheikh Zayed Mosque, a marvel that competes with other engineering wonders of the UAE for its spot amongst the most sumptuous buildings in the Middle East. You can enter the mosque, look around the vast halls, and even pray for a while on your visit. The tour then goes through the eastern mangroves, the Abu Dhabi mall, Louvre museum and the Corniche Road. These are some of the more scenic locations in the city and are certain to be a treat if you are more of a nature-lover. The tour bus winds through various forts and parks along the way and finally comes to a halt at a spot opposite the Abu Dhabi Yacht club. Here you get a complimentary ride on a traditional Arabian Dhow (small boat) across the Corniche. This is the best way to soak in the sights of the beautiful Abu Dhabi skyline as the sun sinks below the horizon.
