Day 1: Amman - Feynan (D) 150 KM
Depart for Feynan Ecolodge from your Amman hotel. The lodge is located in Wadi Feynan (wadi means valley in Arabic) and well away from the main highways of Jordan. Though it might seem remote, it’s not actually isolated. Instead, the Ecolodge is a prime way for the Bedouin in the area to maintain their semi-nomadic lifestyle and make a more traditional living while also affording travelers and volunteers a window into the Bedouin culture that is not as easily visible from the traditional tourist path around Jordan.
The reserve and its surroundings offer different hiking and biking trails with a variety of difficulty levels and duration. The rich archaeology, history, and culture in Feynan are fascinating and you can join a tour to the ancient copper mines, interact with the locals, or learn how to make kohl (Bedouin eyeliner).
If you are not up for an active day, the lodge offers endless options of lounging spots with different views where you can read a book or just relax and take in the soothing atmosphere never found anywhere else. At night you can lie down under a sea of stars and in winter sit around the fireplace for a laid back setting.
Dinner is served at the lodge in the evening.
Day 2: Feynan - Amman (B) 150KM
After breakfast transfer back to Amman Hotel.
