You will have a beautiful view point of the city from the Citadel and continue to visit King Abdullah Mosque; it is one of the most famous and most recognizable structures in Amman. It was built as a memorial for the late King Abdullah I. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known is an elite example of Islamic architecture. It can house up to 7000 worshippers. The cavernous, octagonal prayer hall is capped by a magnificent blue dome 35m in diameter, decorated with Qur’anic inscriptions. This is the only mosque in Amman that openly welcomes non-Muslim visitors. To complete your Islamic tour the “Sahaba Shrines” meaning (Maqamat) in Arabic visit is a must. “Sahaba” is the Arabic word for the companions of the Prophet Muhammad. The “Sahaba Shrines” sits on the hills of the Jordan Valley and belongs to five of the companions. Start by visiting the “Shrines” of: Abu Ubaydah Amer bin Al-Jarrah, Muath bin Jabal, Shurahbil bin Hasnah, Amr bin Abi Waqqas, Dhirar bin Al-Azwar. After completing your tour you will return to your hotel in Amman.
