E-scooter 3.5 hours tour Volendam, Monnickendam, Marken including boatcruise

A nice opportunity is this special arrangement: by E-bike or E-chopper you ride from Volendam via Katwoude to Monnickendam and afterwards up on to Marken.

Start your tour in de famous old-harbour of Volendam where you can see the traditional houses, soak up the fishing village atmosphere and pick up souvenirs for those at home or a memento for yourself. See the famous maze ‘Doolhof’ in Volendam with small streets and cute little houses. In Volendam you also have the opportunity to dress up in the Volendam costume and get photographed. The picture will be a great souvenir from your visit to this unique village.

Move on to Katwoude. The nearby Katwoude is both nationally and internationally known for its cheese farms. Visit the traditional cheese farm and taste the different types of cheese. Other sights in Katwoude include a classic Dutch windmill.

Monnickendam, with its well-preserved historical center, is the third stop on this half-day trip. This monumental city is known for its smokehouses, three churches and shipyards. Take your time walking the streets of the city center and head to the harbour to check out the boats. Stop at one of the canalside cafes for a refreshing drink and a snack. 

Continue your tour from Monnickendam to the former island Marken. Marken is a stunning town with lovely bridges over the small canals and really nice wooden façades. A visit to Marken is a unforgettable experience, due to the characteristic houses, the pleasant ambiance and the beautiful view over the Gouwzee and the Markermeer. 

From Marken you can take the boat back to Volendam. Since 1933, the Volendam-Marken Express has been sailing between two old world-famous villages Volendam and Marken. Cruise along the former Zuiderzee coastline and learn all about this area's fascinating history and culture (English/Dutch Audio guide). The Volendam-Marken Express is departing each 30 minutes from Marken to Volendam and it is possible to bring your E-bike or E-chopper on the ship. After a 30 minutes cruise you will be back in Volendam where you can drive underneath the dike back to the rental company to bring back your E-bike / E-Chopper.
