About this activity
This tour is a great way to get to know this fantastic area of Holland and as it's a private tour you can enjoy it with your friends and family.

Enjoy a complimentary hotel pickup and transfer from your centrally located Amsterdam accommodation to the former island of Marken. Travel back in time to the historical villages of Volendam and Marken on this great private family and friends tour.

Volendam is a small fishing village straight out of a postcard, with a harbor full of classic sailing vessels and rows of brick houses featuring great examples of 17th century Dutch architectural details. Being a typical fishing village with traditional houses and cottages, costumes and folklore, tourists have been beating a path here since 1875.

Marken has a population of less than 2000 and is well known for his traditional architecture. Many tourists have found their way to this former island known for its colorful traditional clothing and monumental houses. Characteristic for Marken are the yards (man-made hills) where houses are built for better protection from the water.

A warm lunch in a harbour restaurant with great sea views is also included in this tour. At the end of the tour your guide will escort you back to a private minivan which will bring you back to your Amsterdam hotel.
