Stop At: New Kalabsha, Near Aswan, Aswan Egypt

our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan to start your tour to kalabsha Temple which was originally built by Thutmosis II and Amenophis II at Kalabsha, and was restored during the Roman conquest. For two years from 1961, Kalabsha Temple was dismantled into 15,000 pieces and moved block by block to its current location on the banks of Lake Nasser. It was just one of 18 temples and monuments moved in order to preserve them from the rising Nile water created by the construction of Aswan's High Dam. Then you will be transferred to the Nubian Museum, opened in 1997 after a long wait for completion. Here, life-size displays of ancient life offer a unique and close feeling of what life was like those thousands of years ago. Artifacts which would have been lost at the floor of Lake Nasser are now placed safely here. At the end of your tour you will be escorted back to your hotel.
