2-Day Snow Tour to Ohakune from Auckland

Following a pickup between 4pm and 4.30pm (depending on your location) in Auckland we travel through the scenic regions of Waikato and King Country to our destination of Ohakune. It is at the base of Turoa Skifield, and is the North Island’s liveliest ski town.It has bars, nightclubs, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, shops and a supermarket.

The drive is a long one, 5.5 hours but we travel in a comfortable vehicle and have regular stops, including a dinner stop we you can chose from a few fast food options. We stay in a comfortable ski lodge, in quad share accommodation.

Wednesday is an early start with free breakfast. We then go to the Ski Shop to hire our ski clothing, skis, snowboards, or toboggans and then then drive up the Scenic mountain road. We help you to get the right passes. General lift, lesson package, or sight see. These are paid when on tour (please see the exclusions list for additional costs).

We then spend the day up the mountain and meet back at the Van at a designated time. Other activities include Mountain Biking, indoor rock climbing, and forest walks. On the way home we do a supermarket stop for food and drinks. In the evening you can either cook at the lodge or go out for dinner. Afterwards either relax or go to a bar.

Thursday is an action replay except at the end of the day we go back to Auckland arriving back late evening between 10-10.30pm.
