About this activity
Escape from the noise and bustle of Bangkok City for a day and travel with us to Koh Kret, an island in the Chao Praya River, northern Bangkok. Koh Kret is one of the oldest settlements of the Mon, an ancient ethnic group, which is located in eastern Burma and in western Thailand. The island served as a refuge to the Mon tribes and has retained a distinct identity in their culture and particularly their pottery.

The tradition of the inhabitans is over 350 years old. Nowadays, the island is known for its beautiful nature, old buildings, a weekend market, delicious food and many kinds of handicraft. We show you the market and admire the many locally prepared treats and products, visit a pottery and try (who wants to) a selfmade handicraft as a small souvenir. Finally we take you to the brewery, which brews up to nine different beers. If you do not want to taste the beer, you can alternatively visit a café, where you can hand-roast the fresh coffee beans before the coffee is made from it.

Afterward you will have the opportunity to explore the island by bike and get some private impressions before heading back to the city.
