Stop At: Ayutthaya temple Mongkolbophit, Pratu Chai Sub-district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya 13000, Thailand

Travel back in time by bicycle to the Bangkok of old!

Across the Chao Phraya river from Thailand's capital city, is a wilderness of jungle and waterways as yet unharmed by industry and modern civilization. Starting downtown, you'll cross the river by ferry before venturing along minor roads as they disappear into paths and walkways through this extraordinarily tranquil location, biking through small villages, and their temples and schools en route.

Along the way you'll stop at a workshop to watch incense being made, and visit a 250-year-old Ayutthaya-period temple with a sweeping teak roof. On weekends you'll also have the opportunity to visit the area's unusual floating market.

The 20km ride is very easy and mostly quite flat, although please note that it is important to be particularly cautious along some of the narrow elevated walkways.

From the metropolitan city to a sprawling jungle adventure in half a day, experience a Bangkok that few tourists are even aware of!
