About this activity
Meet our local guide at the meeting point and walk to China Town where you will pay a visit to the Chinese temple of Wat Leng Noei Yi. Stop for tea at a traditional Chinese coffee house, that looks exactly like it did decades ago! Continue by public bus to the Pahurat, or Little India, here you'll find spices, nuts, textile shops, restaurants, and more.

After stroll across the iconic Saphan Phut, also known as Memorial Bridge, this steel bridge spans across the Chao Phraya River and connects Thonburi with Bangkok. The bridge dates back to 1932, and used to open to let ships past, however this is no longer functioning as large ships no longer come this far upstream.

On the other side of the bridge lies Thonburi and a Portugese quarter, which has some hidden "gems" to offer. There is Wat Prayoon, which is lesser known than other temples, but no less interesting and decorated with the UNESCO Excellence Award. We will visit the 18th century chapel of St. Cruz-Church and stroll through the old alleys, where you can taste exquisite homemade pasties.

Later board a long-tailed boat as we glide through the canals of Klong Bang Luang to a small artist village. You will have the opportunity to walk along the stilt-houses, where art of all kinds are on display. If you are lucky, you will also get to see a local puppet show displayed by artists as they practice their art for for private functions. The Artist’s House is an important learning center for students or people who are interested in art work.

Before returning, you should not miss out on feeding the fish in the canals as it is said to bring you good luck!

Your guide will drop you off at Saphan Taksin where the guide will bid you farewell, from there you can catch a sky train to your hotel, or take a taxi back.
