Pass By: La Barceloneta, Barcelona Spain
After meeting your guide and choosing the best bike for you, zoom off to Barcelona's Inner Harbor and Barceloneta Beach! Learn how Barceloneta was built on a triangular-shaped piece of land full of narrow, mysterious alleys, giving Barcelona its charm and appeal. Today it is one of the city’s most popular and visited districts!
Pass By: El Parque de Sant Marti, Calle Menorca 64, 08020 Barcelona Spain
Continue onto the Olympic Village, in the Sant Marti district! A building project originally constructed to host athletes during the 1992 Olympic Games, it turned into a derelict, industrial area immediately following. With work it turned into a residential district full of parks, beaches, restaurants and bars. In fact, did you know that before 1992, there was no beach in Barcelona? Indeed Barceloneta is a man made piece of heaven that is now part of the city’s modern day social culture.
Pass By: Arc de Triomf, Passeig Lluis Companys, 08003 Barcelona Spain
The iconic Arc de Triomf, one of Barcelona’s most treasured landmarks, is the gateway to the Parc de la Ciutadella. You will quickly notice how Barcelona takes its green spaces seriously! With the lush green park beyond, the Arc de Triomf park provides the perfect background for memorable photos.
Pass By: Mercat del Born, Carrer del Comerç, 12, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
Mercat del Born rests on the ruins that were once part of the Ribera district, destroyed in the early 18th century in the War of Succession. It is the largest covered square in Europe and one of the most important buildings in Barcelona to this day. As you bike past Ciutadella to Passeig del Born you will see the exposed subterranean ruins and surrounding museum areas. From this amazing market place museum (indeed it was sued as a market for hundreds of years!), your tour guide will take you to a special and off the beaten path place filled with artists’ workshops and ancient ruins.
Pass By: Playa de La Barceloneta, Paseo Maritimo Barceloneta, 14, 08003 Barcelona Spain
During your tour you will also stop for a refreshing glass of Cava accompanied by some tapas, just like the locals do! Sip on this deliciously refreshing sparkling wine known all over the world, and feel like a true Barcelones!
