Discover Barcelona's art scene: Studio visit Clarissa Cestari

Clarissa Cestari shares a studio space in the middle of the hip Poblenou neighbourhood, boiling with creativity. She receives you in her studio to share her complex creative process with you and make you connect with Barcelona’s art scene first hand. The studio is usually not open to the public, so you will get exclusive access to a private space in Barcelona and connect with an interesting local person.

About Clarissa Cestari's Art:
Clarissa deals with the deconstruction of the painting gesture. A brushstroke on a small piece of paper is where it all starts, from there, the Brasilian artist takes her work through a sequence of transformations, finally fixing the results on a large canvas, patiently creating the unique texture of her paintings.

The artist will give you a brief resume of her CV, then sit down with you to comment some of her art work one by one: Her technique, her inspiration, her work process. You will comment 4-10 of her works and of course you are welcome to ask questions regarding the pieces, but there will aslo be time for question and answers at the end of the visit.

Clarissa is originally from Brazil but lives and works in Barcelona for years. She can give you a glimpse into the life of a contemporary artist in city of Gaudí and Picasso. Artists are often the collective that picks up the pulse of the time first and can give you insight about socio-cultural aspects of the place you are visiting. Take advantage of that and get to know a different face of the city.

This activity has an approximate duration of 1 hour, of which you will spend most of the time seated.
