Nathalie Rey shares a studio space in the up and coming creative district in the industrial suburb of l’Hospitalet. She invites you to discover her work and trace down her sources of inspiration, diving straight into Barcelona’s vibrant art scene. The studio is usually not open to the public, so you will get exclusive access to a private space in Barcelona and connect with an interesting local person.

About Nathalie Rey's Art:
There is always a hint of darkness present in Nathalie’s work. The french artist aproches the fundamental ambiguity of life by juxtaposing tender and violent imagery. Recently she moved her sulptural work to canvas. Working with children’s toys as raw material, she generates beautiful compositions that nevertheless leave the viewer with a slightly akward feeling.

The artist will give you a brief resume of her CV, then sit down with you to comment some of her art work one by one: Her technique, her inspiration, her work process. You will comment 4-10 of her works and of course you are welcome to ask questions regarding the pieces, but there will aslo be time for question and answers at the end of the visit.

Nathalie is originally from France but lives and works in Barcelona for years. She can give you a glimpse into the life of a contemporary artist in city of Gaudí and Picasso. Artists are often the collective that picks up the pulse of the time first and can give you insight about socio-cultural aspects of the place you are visiting. Take advantage of that and get to know a different face of the city.
