About this activity
This institution, Barcelona's Royal Academy of Science and Arts, with more than 250 years, is located in an eighteenth century building, in the city centre. In its conference room, Albert Einstein exposed the relativity basis.

The history and work of the academist has been related all over the years with diferent subjects, but we must highlight the work done by the Academy calculating the Time Service of the City of Barcelona since 1886 with a meridian telescope from the domes located at the very top of the building. Also, in the adjacent room there rest a Billeter astronomical clock dated in 1869 which indicates the time and the exact position of some planets, the Earth, the Moon and the Sun until 2029.

This is a building where the passion for architecture and the devotion to science are amazingly represented.
