Stop At: Forbidden City-The Palace Museum, Beijing

Visit a traditional Chinese courtyard located near the Forbidden City and join three activities during two hours to know more about Chinese culture. The venue is a tranquil courtyard which has more than 200 years' history, and even one wall of the yard used to be the inner wall of the imperial city. During the 2 hours course you will enjoy some tea and snacks. The Traditional Chinese Arts you will experience are: Calligraphy: This ancient art is revered in Chinese culture and many students learn it at school. After introducing the different materials, you will learn how to write some characters and practice yourself. Paper-cutting: Specially common during festivals, this art is used to wish people health and prosperity, or for decorative purposes. You will cut your favourite design to bring back home. Tea ceremony: With 5.000 years history, tea is a main part of Chinese culture. Learn about the different kinds of Chinese teas with blind tea-tasting and brew your own cup of tea. You can choose to attend these experience from Monday to Friday at 10:00 am or 02:00 pm. After booking, the local operator will send you an e-mail with the exact Courtyard address and directions about how to go there by yourself. Ideally, you can visit Forbidden City first on your own (except Mondays), and then attend our activities.
