Your friendly tour guide and driver will pick up at your prefered time (7:30am to 2:30pm) from your centrally located hotel or Capital International Airport. Then head to UNESCO World Heritage Site-Summer Palace, located about 12 miles northwest of Beijing downtown. It is the largest imperial Garden in existence in China, covers an area of 716 acres( three quareters of which is covered by a lake).

The hall was first built in 1750, burned down in 1860.It was rebuilt in 1889. This was where dragon lady Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Cuangxu held court and administered state affairs.

Kunming Lake is a most attractive water feature a short distance from downtown Beijing. Together with the Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake forms the key landscape features of the Summer Palace gardens. It covers approximately three quarters of the Summer Palace grounds.

This hall was the residence of Empress Dowager Cixi during her stay in Summer Palace. Rubilt in 1889, it consisits of four chambers.

Stop At: Long Corridor at the Summer Palace, No.19 Xinjian Gongmen Road, Haidian District, Beijing China

The Long Corridor actually is a covered walkway 728 meters long with 273 sections. It was first built in 1750 for Qianlong's mother to enjoy the scenes of the lake in rainy days.There are more than 8,000 paintings on the beams, making it a real art gallery.
