About this activity
Bengaluru, the capital of India’s high-tech industry, also has a rich past that will be revealed on this private four-hour heritage walk, beginning at a centrally located cafe at either 8am or 3pm. Bring comfortable shoes and get ready to hear your guide explain how this history inspires the city today. You’ll begin your journey toward St. Mark’s Cathedral, with its colonial style, including a dome, Roman arches, and ornate ceilings and carvings that evoke St. Paul’s cathedral in London. You’ll also pass statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Queen Victoria on your way to the Government Museum, where you can marvel at 5,000-year-old relics from the Indus Valley. Cubbon Park gave Bengaluru its nickname as the “Garden City,” and here you’ll see how some locals spend their leisure time and exercise. Next, you’ll see the state of Karnataka's High Court building Attara Kacheri, and legislative building, Vidhana Soudha. As you head toward M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, you’ll arrive at Mahatma Gandhi Road, also known as M.G. Road, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city. As your tour concludes at the same cafe where you began, your guide will make recommendations for favorite restaurants to enjoy lunch or dinner.
