About this activity

Enjoy a magical open-air summer afternoon concert by the Berlin Residence Orchestra on the majestic grounds of Ribbeck Castle, in honor of one of Theodor Fontane‘s most famous literary characters - the romantic and music-loving Effi Briest.

Get carried away from baroque masterpieces by Vivaldi, Bach, Händel and Mozart and travel back in time into the era of emotions and conflicts. Admire the historical baroque costumes against the beautiful backdrop of the pear orchard, a scenery that would have drawn Effie Briest herself to baroque summer dreams.

About the Berliner Residence Orchestra: Founded in 2006, the Berliner Residence Orchestra has contributed to the musical landscape of the German capitol for over ten years. They perform more than 120 concerts a year in the great Orangery and the New Wing at Charlottenburg Palace, the most important and most beloved castle of the Prussian royal family. A cooperation with the Foundation of State Museums in Berlin allowed the orchestra to expand its activities to include a concert series at the Bode Museum. In addition, this year the ensemble will give guest performances as part of Open-Air in the Pear Orchard at Ribbeck Castle for the first time, and on the summer terrace at Britz Castle for the second time.
