About this activity
Ready for an art attack? The Berggruen Museum has a staggering collection of works by a who's who of modern art stars. Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, Alberto Giacometti and more make the Berggruen one of Berlin's most important modern art museums.
The purpose of art, according to Pablo Picasso, is to wash the dust of daily life off our souls. He did seem to know art, that Picasso, so you can take his word for it. Wash the dust off your own soul as you admire 120 Picassos at the Berggruen Museum!
There's a whole lot more in Berlin's most important modern art museum, which is essentially the personal collection of art dealer and collector Heinz Berggruen (1914–2007).
As well as Picasso's works from his Blue and Rose periods, you can find his Au café-concert from 1902 and the Seated Harlequin with Red Background here.
See Matisse’s infamous paper cut-out Nude Skipping Rope , created in 1952, Giacometti’s Large Standing Woman III from 1960, drawings by Paul Klee, and even a collection of cool African sculptures!
After all of that art, you and your dust-free soul can share a currywurst while you explore the rest of Berlin.
