About this activity
Please include each riders height and gender when booking for correct bike size allocation.
The day runs as follows. Meet up with Sam at the confirmed time and location. Arrive 10-minutes early to take care of some paperwork. Sam will get you set up on your bike properly and ensure you have one his good quality helmets fit correctly (safety first!) and fits you properly to your helmet. Expect to spend 30-40 minutes with Sam as he runs over bike operation, trail info and some great skills and technical tips. With a map in hand and after a few photos, you are off on a truly amazing experience. Sam accepts high fives, hugs, knuckles and what ever excitement you bring back with you from your adventure.
Bikes are 2017 Specialized 29'ers with hydraulic disc brakes and wide handle bars. The big wheel 29'ers and wide handlebars really help your confidence and make riding so much easier. If you have not ridden a modern mountain bike....you are in for a real treat!
When you have finished this amazing ride, check out some of the amazing cafes in the Blackheath Village. You could also then get your hiking gear on and do the amazing "Grand Canyon" walk from Blackheath. You will not find a bad review about this little 2-3 hour hike.
With scenic valley views across the Grose Valley and crisp mountain air, this ride follows the fire trail along the ridgeline to the spectacular Baltzers Lookout and jaw dropping Hanging Rock. Unlike other lookouts in the mountains, there is no safety fence here to separate you from and what feels like the bottom of the world!!
This is your typical "out and back” Blue Mountains ride – the easy navigation and relative short distance make it an ideal ride for less experienced cyclists looking to clock up some time on the dirt and get closer to nature. That’s not to say more experienced cyclists won’t enjoy it…the flowing trails will bring a smile to any rider’s dial, and there are also plenty of water bars to let you get some air time. And besides, the views are more than enough to keep everybody happy anyway! Riders generally complete the ride in 3 to 4 hours.
There are a few short climbs, but they are all easily walked if you need to.
