Pass By: La Macarena, Calle 27 carrera 5, Bogota Colombia

La Macarena is a bohemian place where artists feel at home. It was built for the middle class in the 1950s and 60s. They didn’t want to go further north or west of the city because they wanted to be close to downtown Bogotá. Within the neighborhood of La Macarena you’ll find the National Museum of Colombia, Independence Park and the Santamaría bullring.

Pass By: Parque de la Independencia, Centro Internacional, Bogota, Bogota Colombia

Parque de La Independencia was built to celebrate 100 years of independence from Spain. At the park you’ll see magnificent palm trees, the palmas de cera which is the national tree of Colombia. This park grants one a peaceful break from the chaos of the surrounding city.

Pass By: Parque Nacional, Carrera 7 con Calle 39 Chapinero / La Perseverancia, Bogota 250055 Colombia

The Parque Nacional was opened to the public in 1934, as a tribute to the 400th anniversary of the founding of Bogotá. It’s very popular with Bogotanos due to its central location and extends up the mountainside. It has an urban garden and functions as a wildlife reserve in the middle of the city.
