About this activity
Meeting point in front of Bordeaux Tourist Office. Departure from Bordeaux at 1:00 p.m. to the prestigious Saint-Emilion vineyard and its lovely medieval village listed as UNESCO World Heritage since 1999 for its "cultural landscape". According UNESCO, Saint-Emilion is "an outstanding example of an historic landscape that has survived intact".

Visit a traditional family Chateau in Pomerol or Saint-Emilion. Visit the vineyard, the vat room and the cellar. Explanation about vinification and winemaking process. Tasting of 2 wines.

Drive through the vineyard of Saint-Emilion and visit of the famous medieval village dating from the Middle Age. Walking tour in the charming village and discovery of the main monuments.

Visit a top winery in Saint-Emilion. Start the visit in the vineyard, tour around the vat room and the cellar. Tasting of 2 wines.

The tour in the vineyard ends up with a tasting of French delicacies (cannelés which is small French pastry flavored with rum and vanilla).

Back in Bordeaux at 6.30 p.m.

Drop-off in a guest house for a cooking class. Discovery of South West French cooking and learn about basic cooking skills of French cuisine.

Starter: jar of foie gras pears, crusty foie gras and apple, rissoto with foie gras, gratin dauphinois with foie gras, cake with walnut and duck confit...

Main course: Duck breast roasted in the honey and orange, duck filet with caramel spices, duck breast stuffed with mushroom and Bayonne ham, basquaise chicken... with vegetables and fried potatoes (Sarladaise style)

Dessert: cannelé façon profiteroles

Preparation of dishes under the attentive eye of the Chef who will guide you in the preparation of an authentic meal. After which, tasting of your dishes during the dinner that incluses wine of Bordeaux.
