Pass By: Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), Terreiro Se, Porto 4050-573 Portugal

Day 1: Oporto – Apúlia (58 km / 36 miles)

After we enjoy the Oporto city view, we leave the Praça da Sé by the picturesque alleys until we arrive at Praça da Ribeira. Here we find the Douro river which will guide us to the river mouth. Always by the sea, we pass through the fishing spots as Matosinhos and also some very small villages full of boats and fishing gear.

Day 2: Apúlia – Caminha (59 km / 36 miles)

We leave the village and we drove to Esposende. We leave a bit the seaside and the path becomes different with landscapes composed by woods and fields. Soon we cross the famous Eiffel Bridge and we arrive at Viana do Castelo, where we meet seaside again by a bicycle path that will get us to the beautiful village of Caminha.

Caminha, an ancient bastion of defense against Spanish and French, is now known for its beaches as well as is festivals and pilgrimages. We sleep here today with Spain in sight.

Day 3: Caminha – Vigo (64 km / 40 miles)

Today we start the day not to pedal but to sail. We cross the estuary of the Minho river to our first Spanish town, A Guarda. We head to Vigo, always by the seaside where we pass through numerous villages of which we highlight Oia, for its imposing monastery, and Baiona, with its fort and the port of recreation and fishing. Here, we make an excursion in its narrow interior streets full of bars and restaurants where we can enjoy a well-deserved and refreshing drink that will help you to overcome the last miles that are missing to finally arrive in Vigo. This is the main Spanish fishing port and one of the biggest in the world. We are going to sleep here today, but before we will enjoy some of the well known Galician wonderful fish and other delicacies and of course enjoy the bars and the “movida”.

Day 4: Vigo – Caldas de Reys (65 km / 40 miles)

We leave Vigo bypassing its important estuary where the famous mussels are created as well as other mollusks and shellfish. We will arrive soon at Redondela, where we start to use the Central Portuguese Route that takes us to Pontevedra, the capital of the province of Galicia. We cross the city through its historical streets towards Caldas de Reys, our destiny of this fourth day with its thermal baths and spas which, as the village, date back to Roman times.

Day 5: Caldas de Reys – Santiago de Compostela (43 km / 26 miles)

Santiago is getting closer. We now take the direction of Padrón, known for its famous peppers, fairs, and festivals. We are now in the final stage, just a few miles separate us from the Praça do Obradoiro, in Santiago de Compostela, where we will pose for the always exciting and inevitable final photo with the cathedral in the background.

Ok, everything end´s, but we still have time for a deserved bath in the hotel followed by a goodbye lunch.

The rest of the day? Well that is up to you, finally you will get rid of us and you can enjoy the rest of the day knowing better the historic city of Santiago.

Day 6: Santiago de Compostela (0 km / 0 miles)

Today you are ruling your own time there are no bikes, no trails left and no yellow arrows to follow.

Santiago is a beautiful city, full of monuments and picturesque streets, this is an opportunity to know it better, enjoy and relax, at the scheduled time, your transfer will be there to bring you back.
