Stop At: Curtea de Arges Monastery, Bulevardul Basarabilor 1, Curtea de Arges 115300 Romania

The Cathedral from Curtea de Arges is the burial place for Romanians kings and queens. King Carol I and King Ferdinand and their queens Elisabeth and Mary are buried in the main church, and King Carol II, King Michael, and Queen Anne are buried in a new chappel. Also here we discover the legend behind the sacrifice of Manole, the builder.

Stop At: Poienari Castle, Arefu Romania

The real fortress of Dracula, located in Arefu village, Poienari is on the top of the mountain. We have to climb 1480 steps to rich the fortress, but it is not so hard as you expect. Sometimes the access is forbidden due to brown bears attacks. Otherwise, we cand see it from the road.

One of the biggest dams in Romania, Vidraru was built on the Arges river to control it. Now here we produce annual energy of 400 GWh.

"The most beautiful road in the world" - Jeremy Clarkson (BBC - Top Gear). Built by Nicolae Ceausescu as the secret road for the army, in the 70s, now is a tourist attraction. Is open only from 1st of July to the 1st of November. During winter and spring, we can go to the highest point only by cable car.
