Stop At: Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest, Dózsa György út 41, 1146 Hungary

Private guided tour, led by an art historian, focusing on the museum’s main highlights, also featuring a private concert (20 mins) to complement the artistic experience. This excursion is offered exclusively by Violin Travel.

The recently-renovated Museum of Fine Arts stands on Heroes’ Square, at the edge of City Park, close to the Budapest Hall of Art, Széchenyi Baths and Budapest Zoo. The building is home to the biggest collection of pre-19th century Hungarian art, as well as famous works by international artists, including Carlo Crivelli, Lucas Cranach, Raffaello Santi, El Greco, Pieter Bruegel, and Bronzino.

The Museum, which opened in 1906, has been comprehensively renovated and now once again basks in splendour.

At the end of the tour, young musicians from the Liszt Academy of Music will give a private concert. Art forms never exist in isolation, rather they interact and complement each other. The connection between fine arts and music was never as vibrant and fruitful as during the renaissance, and this concert will highlight the converging points between these two art forms.
