Closed-Door Restaurant in Buenos Aires: Dining and Tango Show at Steaks & Tango

2h30
About this activity
Buenos Aires' closed-door restaurants, or

puertas cerradas, offer you a truly insider look at the city's exciting dining scene. Some of the best chefs in the city, including Chef Luis, are working behind these closed doors, providing a desirable and unforgettable dinner experience for locals and visitors alike.

When you arrive at the private house in Palermo — one of Buenos Aires' most popular

barrios, known for its trendy restaurants and bars — meet your Hostess who will show you to your seat. The intimate, private setting of the house is perfect for your Steaks & Tango experience, during which you’ll learn about our Culture, the ingredients, techniques and rituals that go into this sacred Argentine tradition of eating barbecued meat, drinking wine and socializing with a small group of good friends (or in your case, other travelers who may become good friends before the night is over!).

Guests are received by the Host and are invited to a glass of sparkling wine while they are shown the room, the grill, and invites them to get comfortable and enjoy the night. The table is served with typical empanadas, beef meat and sweet corn.

With all the participants seated at the table, Luis welcomes all, presents his staff and explains step by step how the night of Asado and Tango will take place. The guests choose Torrontés or Malbec wine to accompany the dinner and from the grill the first step comes: Sausages (pork sausage, pork blood sausage and barbecue sausage) with a buquet of salad with vinaigrette and Provoleta cheese.

With the palate already warmed up we present the singer Jorge Tortosa and his musician, who interpret some Tangos to the beat of the guitar.

The great Steak comes out the grill, and the guitarist accompanies with solo performances in the background.

The Host presents the Dancers and the different variants of Tango that they will share with us. The dance begins and tango sensuality awakens the undeniable romanticism of this Argentine tradition.

Later the dessert arrives, a traditional one, the one that our grandparents used to eat: Cheeses and Sweets of quince and sweet potato, with a fruity syrup (specialty of the Chef); accompanied by a Late Harvest that will sweeten the evening.

The Cantor and his musician return to the stage with some tangos to close the night, the dancers return and they all play together the last show of the night.
