About this activity
Board the Kuranda Riverboat from the jetty below the Kuranda Scenic Railway to start your Queensland rainforest experience with the cruise across the Barron River to a secluded area accessible only via the riverboat.
Disembark and follow your guide on a walk through the rainforest, learning about the plants, animals, and history of the area as you go. Part of the trail dates back to the 1920s, when Dan Duggan established his tourism attraction The Maze, later called Paradise. In homage to Duggan, who rowed tourists across the river in all their finery, eager to experience the beauty of the rainforest, the Kuranda Riverboat tour recreates aspects of his original tourism venture.
At the end of your guided walk, you will be served light refreshments in an outdoor rainforest tea room. Then return to the riverboat for transfer back to the jetty on the Kuranda village side of the Barron River.
