About this activity
Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport, our rep will meet and help you through passport control. Then, in a private air-conditioned car, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 2: Enjoy a day tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the only survivor of the 7 wonders of the ancient world and Sphinx, the necropolis of Sakkara and the oldest and first capital, Memphis. Enjoy the tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx,. It is a private tour; the guide will provide you with the history of the area. You will carry on with a visit to Sakkara, where the oldest pyramid of king Zoser was built 2800 BC. Enjoy the colored wall painting by entering one of the tombs of the nobles. Day 3: Discover the Egyptian museum, which houses thousands of artifacts. Your guide will explain the highlights.Then you will enjoy free time to go and browse here and there.Following this visit, you will visit to the Citadel of Saladin, a 12th century fortress .Inside the citadel, you will go into the Alabaster mosque. Built in 1830, the mosque was designed by a Turkish architect, who followed the same style of the Blue mosque of Sultan Ahmed in Istanbul. Your guide will explain the main elements of the mosque and basic Islamic principles then, enjoy some free time at Khan El Khalili, the biggest market in Cairo,
Day 4: COPTIC AND ISLAMIC TREASURES, you will start your tour with the Coptic area where you will visit the Roman fortress of Babylon.The fort was built in the 1st century A.D; the ruins of one of the towers still exist while a very impressive church was built on the walls of another known as the Hanging church. Consecrated to Virgin Mary, the Hanging church was built in a basilica style. Let your eyes and feelings absorb the beauty of the icons, the altars and the pulpit. Then carry on to Abu Serga or St Sergious church. It is also known as the cavern church as the holy family stayed in the cave underneath the church during the escape journey in Egypt, a short walk will lead you the oldest Jewish temple in Cairo.The temple is famous for the Geniza:an archive of valuable and rare documents. After spending your time in Coptic Cairo, you will move to the mosques.The Madrassa-Mosque of sultan Hassan is considered as the pyramid of Islamic structures. This place was used as a school, mosque and mausoleum. Your guide will provide you with an introduction to the main elements of the mosque. A short drive will take you to the 1150-year-old mosque of Ibn Tulun.it is the oldest and best-preserved mosque in Egypt.
Day 5: Departure: After breakfast at the hotel, be ready for escort to the airport for final departure
