Here your private Egyptologist guide will take you to the Mit Rahina open air museum; location for the colossal statue of Ramses II, made of fine-grained limestone, and his beautiful sphinx made of the alabaster. Learn about the worship of the god Ptah, the divine cult of the sacred bull, and the embalming process at the temple compound.
followed to neighboring Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first free-based large stone structure in the world. Your tour guide will explain what is known of this ancient site, built for Pharaoh Zoser (Djoser) around the 27th century B.C.
