DAY 1: ARRIVE CAIRO, EGYPT
Arrive in Cairo, where you are met by your tour representative and transferred to your hotel with fantastic view of the pyramids.
DAY 2: GIZA | THE PYRAMIDS & THE SPHINX
Tour the Giza Plateau, site of the Great Pyramid. Explore the interior of one of these legendary pyramids. Ride on camel back and continue to the Sun Boat Museum, Then, view the Great Sphinx, the ancient world largest monumental sculpture, carved of a single stone. After lunch, return to your hotel.
DAY 3: LUXOR | KARNAK & THE VALLEY OF THE KINGS
Fly to Luxor and visit the Temple of Karnak. Walk through the Great Hypostyle Hall, .Board your luxury Nile cruise and enjoy lunch on board. Afterward, explore the west. Discover the Valley of the Kings and step inside the tomb of Tutankhamun. You also visit the Valley of the Queens (Biban el-Harim). Later, explore the Temple of Hatshepsut.
DAY 4: CRUISING THE NILE | TEMPLE OF DENDERAH
Cruise north on to the Temple of Hathor at Denderah. Sail back to Luxor. This afternoon, return to the east bank of the Nile, this time visiting the temple of Luxor.
DAY 5: CRUISING THE NILE | EDFU TO KOM OMBO
Continue cruising to Edfu and the Temple of Horus. Join your chef on board for a cooking lesson. Later, disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the Greco-Roman temple of Haroeris (the sun god) and Sobek (the crocodile god).
DAY 6: ASWAN
Cruise to Aswan and ride a motor boat to Philae Temple on the island of Agilika, moved here to avoid flood damage from Aswan Dam. Continue to the granite quarries and site of the Unfinished Obelisk. Then sail amid the Aswan islands by felucca, weather permitting.
DAY 7: ABU SIMBEL
Disembark your luxury Nile cruise and fly to Abu Simbel. See the twin temples of Ramses II and his wife, Queen Nefertari. Return to Cairo for an evening at leisure.
DAY 8: CAIRO | LEGENDARY PHARAOHS & BUSTLING SOUK
Visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, home to the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun and artifacts dating back to 4000 BC. Enter the fascinating Mummy Room, including Ramses II, one of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs. After lunch, walk from Bab el-Fotouh to Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, where packed stalls display everything from spices and leather goods to jewelry and birds. Explore the Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, built in 1356, and among the finest examples of early Mamluk architecture.
DAY 9: CAIRO | ANCIENT TREASURES
Drive to Sakkara, home to tens of tombs and 14 pyramids, including the famous Step Pyramid of Zoser, which stands 204 feet tall and was the largest building of its time. Continue to Memphis, capital of the ancient kingdom and now home to an open-air museum.
DAY 10: DEPART CAIRO
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and depart.
