Atlantic Beach Bike Tour from Cape Town

About this activity
With Table Mountain as the backdrop and the infamous Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for more than 28 years in the foreground, our Atlantic Beach Cycle circles around Table Bay for an easy coastal ride out Bloubergstrand and Melkbosstrand. We meet at the Radisson Blu and cycle out along Cape Town's only dedicated cycle path, leaving behind the urban foreshore and harbour area, quickly traversing Paarden Island and reaching the white sandy beaches and magnificent fynbos-covered-dunes.

Table Bay is a natural bay on the Atlantic Ocean overlooked by Cape Town (founded in 1652 by Van Riebeeck) and is at the northern end of the Cape Peninsula, which stretches south to the Cape of Good Hope. Table Bay is named this way because it is dominated by the flat-topped Table Mountain.

We enjoy an easy cycle and pass by wetlands which are full of birds and colourful flamingos! You may want to dip your toes in the ocean on the beautiful beaches of Blouberg and Melkbos. We stop for lunch at a popular local eatery and then head back to the city.
