About this activity
Did you know that the first war experienced by the early colonists was in 1718 or that Charleston played a pivotal role in World War II? Join your guide and host for an 1.5 tour of Charleston to learn about its glorious military history. The city is often cited as a pivotal player in the American Revolution and Civil War, but many more contributions were made to war efforts in Charleston's 300 year history.

Offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:00pm, the Charleston at War tour is 90 minutes long. Led by a city licensed tour guide and historian, our route is approximately one mile on foot. We begin at Charleston City Hall, which is located at 80 Broad Street. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start time in order to be checked in. This is a rain or shine tour except in the instances of severe weather.
