Pass By: Unitarian Church in Charleston, 8 Archdale St, Charleston, SC 29401-1959

Construction for The Unitarian Church started in 1774, but didn’t finish until 1787 due to the Revolutionary War.

The church went through an interior restoration in the 1850’s where they modelled the inside after the cathedrals of both Westminster Abbey and Windsor Castle.

Check for a sign out front letting you know if the church is open. If you make it inside, please take in the ceiling and beautiful glass in the back, which is actually not stained glass, but hand painted glass imported from Germany in 1852.
