Half Day
About this activity
Explore the cultural heritage of Chiang Mai, Thailand’s northern capital, on a half-day guided tour. In addition to visiting some of its most significant temples, you’ll see the old city walls, Thapae Gate, and a local market.

A highlight of this tour is Wat Chiang Man, the city’s oldest temple and famed for its chedi that is supported by rows of elephantine buttresses. Visit Wat Phrasing, home of the beautiful Lai Kham Chapel with its exquisite woodcarving and northern style murals.

You’ll also tour Wat Chedi Luang, and admire its enormous pagoda, which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Wat Suan Dok, dating to the 14th century, originally was the site of the pleasure gardens of the Thai monarchy. Today it features several white chedis that contain the ashes of Chiang Mai’s former royal family.
