Pass By: Wiang Kum Kam, Chiang Mai Thailand

We pass first the city ruins of Wiang Kum Kam, one of the latest discoveries around Chiang Mai. Wiang Kum Kam was a settlement long before King Mengrai’s capital around 1287- 90. The area was restored as a historical park during the 1980-ies. Surrounded by paddy and village houses, the extensive site has a pleasant rural feel, yet it is very close to Chiang Mai.

Stop At: McKEAN REHABILITATION CENTER, Mckean Rehabilitation Center and hospital Soi Ko Klang 6 Tambon Tha Wang Tan, Amphoe Saraphi, Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50140, Thailand

This rehabilitation center was once purposely built as a leper colony, away from the general population. Nowadays, the center is a green haven in the heart outside Chiang Mai near the Ping River.
