Turda Salt Mine –

 Dug during the Middle Ages for salt mining purpose, Turda Salt Mine is nowadays one of the most beautiful landmarks in Cluj County, attracting thousands of tourists every year. Designed almost like a labyrinth, the salt mine consists of several mine galleries, as well as operating rooms that can be visited. The main attractions of this tourist site are: Mine Joseph – a conical-shaped room whose depth reaches up to 112 meters; the Crivac Room – an octagonal room with a rudimentary plant used to lift salt stones; and Mine Terezia – a room with a height reaching up to 90 meters. Very interesting is that during the renovation, in 2008-2010, a panoramic elevator was installed in Turda Salt Mine, equipped with a gondola wheel. Plus, a recreation area with a pier was designed in the same period. Thus, tourists can take a boat ride inside the salt mine. The temperature in Salina Turda is between
