About this activity

The CHIMOMA tour begins very early in the morning, around 6 am, with passenger pick-up at their respective hotels.

Our first destination is the town of Chinchero where we will visit Inca ruins and terraces, a beautiful colonial church, and afterwards we will have an interesting tour in one of the textile craft workshops while we enjoy delicious muña mate (herb tea).

Later we will go by private transport to the starting point of the bicycle tour, (safety equipment included). This section by bike crosses the road in the direction of Moray and you will enjoy breathtaking landscapes. Here we will spend some time to discover the true history of the Inca agricultural laboratories.

Then we will go to the small town of Maras, where we can see and enjoy the famous “chicha de Jora” – the most famous drink in the Peruvian Andes. This tasty drink is a type of corn beer, prepared naturally.

As the last part of the Chimoma tour we will visit one of the most beautiful and incredible salt mines in South America. You will be able to walk and touch around 5,000 ponds and learn more about salt production. You will be interested to learn that the salt of this place has been produced this way since the time of the Incas.

The Chimoma tour is a full day excursion, and we will return to Cusco around 7 pm.
