About this activity
Beginning between 7-8am, greet the day (and your personal guide) outside your Cusco hotel when you board an air-conditioned coach and begin the drive to the ancient archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. During the 2-hour drive, listen to your guide's narrative about the history of the Inca site. Arrive at Ollantaytambo and set off on a guided tour of its impressive ruins. Take in the stone architecture and clean lines of the Temple of the Sun and Manyaraqui Square.

Hear about the site's former infrastructure and how its Inca king conquered the surrounding land. Then set off on a 3-hour hike up Pinkuilluna Mountain for about 3 hours. Once you've reached the summit, look out over the massive stone buildings–presumed to be agricultural reservoirs–below. See a massive, carved stone face that looks over Ollantaytambo, and learn how the current residents keep some of the ancient Inca traditions alive.

Between activities (around 1pm), you'll have the opportunity to purchase lunch at Tunupa Restaurante in Urubamba Town. The private tour ends when you are dropped back off at your Cusco hotel between 4-5pm.
