Stop At: Puente Qeswachaka, Cusco Peru

Go where most tourists never get to and experience a genuine and unforgettable Peru. Q'eswachaka straw bridge is made with a local grass, Ichu, using traditional Incan methods.

There is a local person at the site to give you a demonstration of the steps that are used to make the bridge from the grasses, and you will be surprised by how strong plaited grass can be! The bridge is renewed once a year on the second Sunday in June with ritual ceremonies and dances which gives a great insight into Inca culture.

On the way we will drive pass agricultural fields, small villages and 4 lakes of varying colours as well as a mini volcano. We will have a picnic lunch looking over the Apurimac River.
