About this activity

It is always a good idea to get the body moving in the morning, with an exciting bicycle ride to a local farm in Tra Que Village. Here, you will be given an introduction to the history of the village. Through the introduction, we can know a lot of interesting information about the cultivation of vegetables and their uses in traditional Vietnamese medicine. You will take a trip around the vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing and fertilizing the land with seaweed from the local lake. Other activities will include: raking, sowing, picking greens and much more. Then, we will spend the rest of the last working the land until it’s time to prepare some special foods with a local family and taste a local food called (“packed with pork, prawn, mint and coriander”). Continue to Hoi An Silk Village to learn the story of craft sericulture there, we will see the silkworm-breeding house, where we can see the cocoons, learn how to feed the silkworms and unravel silkworm cocoons by using traditional methods. We will enjoy lunch.

We will transfer to the port and take a boat trip up to Thu Bon River where we will head to the Kim Bong Carpentry Village. Visit and learn about the shipbuilding area where wooden fishing vessels are built by using traditional techniques. You will also have a stop at the carpentry workshop where carpenters create handcrafted furniture and sculptures. Next stop is Thanh Ha Pottery Village; we will observe the necessary steps used for producing pottery products such as vases, pots and kettles. After learning about pottery making, we visit Thanh Ha Terra Cotta Park Museum. The museum is a continuous shift where past, present and future influence each other.
