Since the first world exhibition in London in 1851, this event takes an important place in the world of business, culture and international relations. Being held for the first time more than a century and a half ago, world Expo will move to the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) and last for half a year, from October 20, 2020, to April 10, 2021. During this time, it is expected that 25 million people will visit the exhibition.

What is the Dubai Expo 2020?

More than 190 countries participate in this international event and each of them will have its own pavilion. There will be built 3 thematic districts according to the three sub-themes of the exhibition: Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability.

The Expo center itself occupy 438-hectares (1083 acres) and will be located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities. To provide this gigantic area with electricity, solar panels will be installed on the facades of the pavilions. That will help to provide more than half of the electrical energy required for the exhibition complex.

According to official data, the World Expo-2020 exhibition in Dubai, approved at the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau on November 27, 2013, will bring the United Arab Emirates 112.6 billion dirhams or $ 33.4 billion. These funds will be used to stimulate the economic development of the country during the next 1à years. Also, during the preparation period and during the Expo 2020, dynamic growth of the labor market is expected: over 200,000 new jobs will be created.

Expo 2020 Dubai | Welcome the Future

The purpose of this exhibition is not only to earn money for the development of the Emirates. Its idea is much more humanistic and noble. It is expressed in several postulates that reflect well the spirit of the event:

Pavilions at the Dubai Expo 2020

The best architects in the world are working on the construction of the World Expo-2020 center. The project was designed by American companies HOK, Populous, and British Arup. A site for the Expo, which will occupy 438 ga, is situated near the marina of Jebel Ali and not far from the new international airport Al Maktoum.

How to become a volunteer at Dubai Expo 2020?

You can also visit the exhibition as a volunteer. The organizers of the world exhibition Expo 2020 have already begun to hire 30 000 volunteers to serve the guests of the event. According to the organizers, 7 thousand volunteers have already been interviewed, so 23 thousand "posts" are still available to applicants.

Anyone can register on the volunteers.ae portal and get ready for a 20-minute interview. Adult volunteers do not require any special knowledge and skills. The exhibition will provide them with a flexible work schedule: 14 shifts per month, a maximum of 12 hours each.
