Day 1: Day One: Dublin - Connemara - Galway

We'll depart Dublin this morning and make our way to the West of Ireland and beautiful Connemara.
Stop At: Royal Abbey of Cong, Cong Ireland
Famed by John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in the film Quiet Man, the village is home to Ashford castle, a regular haunt of the rich and famous and a wedding venue for a host of international stars ie Pierce Brosnan. From beautiful abbeys to medieval castles, rivers, stunning lakes and babbling brooks, Cong is a true picture postcard of Ireland! We take a break here with a visit to Cong Abbey, the ruins of an Augustinian monastery. Take time to enjoy lunch in this beautiful village.

Lough Corrib
Well know for its fishing, Lough Corrib is the second largest lake in Ireland after Lough Neagh. Surrounded by its abundance of wildlife such as otters, hawks, minks, birds the lake consists of 356 different islands. The most famous island among them is Inchagoil island with its spectacular views of Maumturk range, Joyce country, and the mountains of Connemara.
Connemara Wilderness
We continue our drive through the wilderness of Connemara. We enjoy this unique landscape, beautiful lakes, valleys, and mountainous scenery. Ravaged by famine, and predominantly Gaelic the people here still strive to maintain the remanence of rural culture and the traditional Irish way of life.
The Deserted Valley
We head back to Galway via the Maam Valley, an area of scenic and unsurpassed beauty with the lakes of Connemara which unfold in among the twelve Bens mountains. We then travel back along the coast and Galway Bay through Spiddal, and enjoy magnificent views of the Atlantic Coastline to Galway and Aran Islands
While exploring Connemara, we will have many opportunists to stop for photos and breath in the fresh Connemara air.

Arrive in Galway mid afternoon for time at leisure in this atmospheric city. We have time to explore the Spanish Arch and ramble down colourful Shop Street with its many street performers, seafood eateries and quaint Irish bars.

Stop At: Wild Atlantic Way The Atlantic Coast of Ireland, Galway Ireland
Today you will have the Atlantic Ocean by your side as we cruise down a portion of the Wild Atlantic Way. The coastal route is characterised by beautiful golden beaches and maybe even dolphins and whales breaching off the shore.

Stop At: Killarney National Park, Killarney Ireland
One of the most beautiful and admired national parks in the world, Killarney national park was the first of its kind established in Ireland in 1932. With magnificent views of the Lakes of Killarney and Black Valley from our stops at Aghadoe and Torc Waterfall the park gives you an opportunity to enjoy a walk in this amazing landscape and spend time strolling along the lakes.

Regularly voted the most beautiful town in Ireland, Killarney is the gateway to both Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Nestled in the valley beneath Ireland's highest mountain range, and surrounded by lakes Killarney boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. Lined with lovely shops, pubs and traditional arts and crafts stores, this true gem is a must see for every traveler who visits our motherland.

Stop At: Torc Waterfall, Kenmare Road, Killarney Ireland
Torc Waterfall is a 18m high waterfall which cascades through the wooded Friers Glenn. We take a stop at this magnificent natural site of beauty. Enjoy a short walk , and maybe even see the red deer which are well known inhabitants of the Killarney national park . The waterfall has a public hiking path that stretches to the top of Torc Mountain.
