About this activity
Sit back and relax as we escape deep into the countryside. We will take you back in time to the seat of the High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara.

Our first stop of the day is in the small picturesque fishing village of Howth. We drive through Howth Summit where you can appreciate spectacular views looking out over Dublin Bay. Let the fresh sea breeze invigorate you before we head to the countryside via the coastal route.

Continuing to Newgrange, this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site is dated 3,200BC and is one of the oldest and largest Neolithic burial chambers in Europe predating the Egyptian pyramids! Older than Stonehenge, for 5,000 years the ancient megalithic tomb at Newgrange in County Meath has housed the remains of Stone Age ‘aristocracy’, sheltering the spirits of the long dead from the outside world. As part of your experience, you will be taken on a guided tour inside the tomb of Newgrange. We are one of the few companies who can provide you with this unique experience.

The Hill of Tara was once the ancient capital of Ireland. It was here that the King of Ireland was decided. Legend says that stone called the Lia Fail cried out when the true King touched the stone. Why not visit the Hill and touch the stone and see if it cries out! Though best known as the seat of the High Kings of Ireland, the Hill of Tara has been an important site since the late Stone Age when a passage-tomb was constructed there. Tara was at the height of its power as a political and religious centre in the early centuries after Christ.
