About this activity
Tour starts by our Driver picking you up from your accommodation, driving up north to Peljesac peninsula, well known for its wine production of globally famous wines. Enjoy in beautiful scenery of this coastal area. Our first stop will be a small medieval town with the longest stone wall in Europe called Ston. You will get a glimpse of the “Great wall of Ston” (5,5km), with narrow quiet streets and noble ancient houses. After some free time in Ston we will continue to visit the oldest salt factory in Europe where you will be able to see why Ston was known as “salt city“. You will hear about traditional and natural way of salt production which has not changed for centuries. From there we will continue driving towards the wineries, but before we will stop for Lunch (against charge) in a local restaurant with magnificent view of on a small bay. After lunch, it’s time for tasting! 1st stop will be at Winery Milos, where you will hear how the wine is made on a traditional way and taste the final product. On our way to the second winery we will also stop for tasting of freshly harvested oysters, famous delicacy of this area. Second winery is Grgic, established in 1996 by well-known Californian winemaker, born in Croatia. Discover why their wines won awards and prizes by enjozing in their delicious taste. From there we will continue to visit Matusko winery with its amazing underground wine cellar, find out about special wines that are put in amphoras and dug into ground and try out some wines from there big collection. On the way back you sit back and enjoy one of the most beautiful scenic rides until we reach Dubrovnik and drop off back at your accommodation.
