About this activity
The tour starts when you meet your guide at the entrance to the impressive Scottish Parliament building in the picturesque setting of Holyrood Park, ideally meeting around 10-15 minutes before the departure time to give you a good amount of time to get warmed up and introduced to your guide. You don't need to bring anything with you other than your comfiest running shoes and a willingness to enjoy yourself!

The tour route changes depending on the groups ability levels, specific interests, and weather, but usually covers around 7 kilometers, the first of which will take you up to Calton Hill, giving you a panoramic view of the city, then the rest of the tour will take you through parts of the old and new town of Edinburgh before you finish up at the Historic Scotland Education Centre, nestled at the base of the dramatic Salisbury Crags.

There are various departure times throughout the day to suit your schedule, and the route can be adapted to whatever your interests may be. The pace is set by the group, so whatever your fitness levels are, you will be able to get around the course, and there's plenty of stops for photographs and stories.

Our guides are highly experienced and qualified jog leaders, so know how to spin a good yarn about the history and look after the group, ensuring you get the most out of the tour. If you have specific interests or a desire to see something in particular, your guide will try their best to accommodate.
