About this activity
The Powerful Women of Edinburgh tour begins with the story of Maggie Dickson at a spot where many breathed their last breath. There, in front of Maggie Dickson's Pub on the Grassmarket, you will be greeted by one of Invisible (Edinburgh)'s guides.

You will be guided along the streets of the capital exploring the local and global impact of historic and contemporary women who are a part of Edinburgh's rich history.

Your adventure begins at Maggie Dickson's pub where you will learn the incredible story of how Maggie managed to survive a public execution in the early 1700s. A quick stop at the Grassmarket Community Project (a fellow social enterprise) is made before contemplating the merits of one of Edinburgh's most famous statues. The tour continues through the Old Town, taking in monuments that even locals are unfamiliar with, which pay homage to the women of the past.
