Day 1: Collect Meet & Greet, TOTNES Devon, OR other S Devon Hotels. Area Tour & History

Stop At: Totnes Guildhall, Ramparts Walk, Totnes England
After collection ( meet & greet ) a Tour of the Market Town of Totnes, Devon. (& surrounding area) visit to the town Elizabethan Museum, historic GuildHall, the ‘Narrows’ Totnes Castle. Plus Free Time.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Plymouth Hoe, 1 The Hoe, Plymouth PL1 2NY England
Leaving Totnes & driving down to the City of Plymouth.
See where Sir Francis Drake played Bowls on Plymouth Hoe, before defeating the Spanish Amarda.
See where the Pilgrim fathers leave from The Barbican to go the the America’s ( actually they left from Southampton) only calling in at Plymouth because of Bad weather!
Visit the King William Yard for visit & evening Meal.
On to the Brittany Ferries Ship Terminal.
Board the Ship for overnight crossing to Roscoff, in Brittany

Day 2: Roscoff, Northern Brittany, (France) - Coastal towns & beautiful countryside explore. (private Car)

Stop At: Saint-Pol-de-Léon Cathedral, 29250 Saint-Pol-de-Léon, France
Visit this fabulous Local traditional French Market [only on Tuesdays] & up to 250 Stalls. [next to the Cathedral] there is also a very impressive and large Supermarket here to get some wonderful French wines. [massive choice] and prices half that of the UK [or US!] Sit in the lovely French square, with a coffee & baguette [is the french bread the best in the world?] sample cheeses, or sample a french tart.....the best.

Stop At: Port de Morlaix, Cours Beaumont, 29600 Morlaix France
Visit this famous and traditional French town of Morlaix with some free time in the town to explore.
We will also tour some of the wonderful coastal drives,
Before returning for some free time in very picturesque Roscoff.
( Recommend the Moules & Frites) speciality of the area.
We then pick up the late afternoon sailing back to Plymouth.

drive and brief photographic stops along this stunning coast line

Day 3: Dartmoor National Park Tour, ( including HayTor) Exeter & Torbay.

Stop At: Dartmoor National Park, United Kingdom
Completely different from yesterday’s French Trip! Drive up to the rugged, baron but beautiful Dartmoor National Park.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: National Park Visitor Centre - Haytor, Haytor Lower Car Park, Dartmoor National Park TQ13 9XT England
A brief and refreshing stroll up to Hay Tor [option to stay in the visitor centre] - views are stunning from the top. On to an 1850’s Granite Dartmoor quarry. [very picturesque].

Stop At: St. Pancras Church, B3387, Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor National Park TQ13 7TA England
Quick look around he quaint village of Widecombe on the Moor - see where ‘Ol Uncle Tom Cobbley, rode his Horse!
Passing Two Bridges on to Postbridge - a stunning relaxing drive across the Moors.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Exeter Cathedral, The Cloisters, Exeter EX1 1HS England
Drive in to view the beautiful old Cathedral in Exeter, the capital of Devon.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Torquay Museum, 529 Babbacombe Road, Torquay TQ1 1HG England
Driving back towards the coast from Exeter to Torbay.
Torquay, Paignton & Brixham
Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Paignton Pier, Esplanade Rd, Paignton England
Driving along the sea front [the English Riviera!] past the Paignton Pier - a very traditional English ‘seaside’ town.

Stop At: Brixham Harbour, Brixham England
On to Brixham a working Fishing town but also very popular with Tourist. Perhaps some traditional Fish & Chips, but you will not want any tea afterwards!

Day 4: Cornwall. Day tour, visiting the Best of...!

Stop At: St Ives Bay, St Ives England
8am start drive down to the beautiful and possibly most picturesque towns in the UK. St Ives. Famous for Artists and the Tate Gallery.
Tour & Free time to explore * brief Tate Gallery visit if required (Payment on entrance).
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Padstow Harbour, Padstow PL28 8DT England
Driving up the stunning North Atlantic Coast road to Padstow [or known locally a ‘Padstein’ - this pretty little traditional fishing town made famous by Chef Rick Stein. He has numerous ‘eateries’ in the town.

Pass By: Harbour, Port Isaac, Cornwall, Slipway Hotel Garage, Port Isaac England
Again another beautiful unspoilt tiny Cornish Fishing village made famous by Doc Martin.

Heading back towards Devon over Bodmin Moor passing the famous Jamaica Inn (Daphne du Maurier)

Driving over this rugged Moorland

Day 5: The Beautiful South Hams. An Area of Outstanding Natural beauty. South Devon Coast. Also WW2 memorial site.

Stop At: Dartmouth Castle Castle Road, Dartmouth TQ6 0JN England
After Hotel Check out drive down to Dartmouth.
Tour of Bayards Cove, freetime
Drive around to the Dartmouth castle look out point.

Pass By: Blackpool Sands, A379, Dartmouth England
On this beautiful Coast road of the South Hams we pass probably the prettiest beach location in the UK. Blackpool Sands.

Stop At: Slapton Sands, Slapton, Kingsbridge TQ72TQ England
Onto Slapton Sands [very famous for Stories, incl Foyles War] the area had a total evacuation the end of 1943 for the USA Troops to practise D Day French landing. [fascinating & a tragic story which includes my own family story of evacuating a whole dairy farm and 5 small children just before Christmas].

Stop At: The Sherman Tank Memorial Site, Slapton, Kingsbridge England
Stop at Torcross to see the Original Sherman Tank [memorial] as recovered from the sea at Slapton Sands from ‘excercise Tiger’.

Stop for Cream Tea and Brewery visit of the South Hams Brewery. [INCLUDED]
