About this activity
A walk in the center of Florence is like visiting an open-air museum! Our first stop will be Piazza della Repubblica, the ancient "Roman castrum" from which the city originated; from there we will walk to Palazzo Strozzi, a sumptuous example of Renaissance architecture, along the Via Tornabuoni to get to Ponte Santa Trinita in order to reach the Oltrarno, the other side of the river, and the Santo Spirito district, famous for the artisan workshops.

We will admire the Pitti Palace, home of the Medici family and the King of Italy, then we will walk along the Vasarian Corridor, onto the Ponte Vecchio up to the Uffizi courtyard. We will arrive in the Piazza Signoria to admire Cellini’s Perseus, The Rape of the Sabine by Gianbologna, The Neptune Fountain and the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. From there we will head to the Santa Croce church where Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei and many other illustrious Italians are buried.

Our walk will continue towards the district of Dante from which we will arrive in Piazza Duomo and entering St Mary of the Flower Cathedral to admire Brunelleschi's Dome frescoes.

The tour will end with the explanation of Giotto's Bell tower and the magnificent Baptistery's Gates of Paradise.
