About this activity
Tread in the footsteps of powerful 16th- and 17th- century Italian rulers during this 3-hour tour of Villa Artimino in the Tuscan hills. The former summer home of the Medici family, the estate has a fascinating history and sits in one of the most picturesque parts of Tuscany.

The last villa built by the renowned architect Bernardo Buontalenti at the end of the 16th century, Villa Artimino was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only accessible via guided tour, the estate is full of ornate furnishings and stately rooms. Known to some as the ‘villa of the hundred chimneys,’ the former private residence has an unusual amount of chimneys on its roof. Follow a guide inside and out and get a feel for what life was like in such an opulent era.

After the visit, relax with a variety of local wines produced on site. A professional sommelier will explain the growing, production, and business process, and a platter of cheeses, cold cuts, and other local delicacies will be available for an extra fee.
