This comprehensive morning city tour takes in Renaissance masterpieces and stunning art and landscapes, with amazing views from the starting point at the picturesque Piazzale Michelangelo. Perched on the side of the hill, the panorama is astounding and will capture your heart and imagination. Your friendly and knowledgeable guide will be with you, proudly relating the history of the most important monuments in the city. These include the incredible Palazzo Vecchio, once home to the court of the Medici family, the magnificent dome that is Brunelleschi’s Cupola, and the variety of Romanesque style churches throughout Florence.

Next on the agenda is the Accademia Gallery, most famous for its sculptures, home to Michelangelo’s original David, along with la Pietà di Palestrina, I Prigioni and San Matteo. You will learn of the anguished life of Michelangelo, the Tuscan artist who excelled in sculpting, painting, poetry and architecture. From here it is a pleasant stroll through the historic streets of Florence, arriving in Piazza Duomo. The secrets of Giotto’s Bell Tower will be revealed, followed by a viewing of the octagonal Baptistery, constructed in around the year 1059, with its three sets of bronze doors adorned with relief sculptures.
